Pond Filtration

Take four green scouring pads and a plastic 4 liter paint pot with holes cut in the sides.

Charcoal helps to secure the pads.

Place in a storage box with an added outlet in the side (small sink drain).

Water is fed through the lid. If the pads do become full and blocked, water will merely flow over the top of the green pot.
I was pleasantly surprised to discovered that this also acts as a settlement tank.

That was my original filter design but the surface area is so small it needed cleaning twice a week.
It is now the second stage of the filtration, the first stage being fine nylon fishing net crammed into
a pot with the water pumped in directly overhead.
